Yes, all potential students must register in person at one of the ESOL events listed on the Brooklyn Public Library website (https://www.bklynlibrary.org/adult-learning/esol).
How long does the registration process take?
Depending on the location and date, it can take up to two hours. The process includes completing an application for registration and taking an assessment test.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself, but please be prepared to complete an application.
Can I sign up for a friend or family member?
No. All registrants must be present.
Are children allowed to attend registration and/or classes?
No. At registration events, children can create a distraction for everyone. Plus, the space needs to be as quiet as possible for testing. Children are NOT allowed to attend classes as well.
How many times a week are classes offered?
All classes are two days a week. Students must attend both days.
How many classes can I miss?
We advise that you not miss classes, unless you have an emergency.
What happens if I don't attend all classes?
You will be removed from the class.
What if my work schedule changes or if I get a job?
Can I attend a class at the library near my home/work?
